PARTNERS | HEALTHY CITY  | HOW HEALTHY | VISION | SUMMIT | PRIORITIES | FUNCTIONS | CITY OF FALL RIVER

Following the announcement of a national Roadmaps to Health Prize by the Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Partners for a Healthier Community decided to apply. First, a comprehensive review process of the previous five years activities designed to improve the City's health was undertaken.  Members then worked on a fifteen-page written application describing the progress the City has made. Finally, a four-minute   video presentation was scripted and then filmed to illustrate the major points in the written application. Partners Steering Committee members Michael Coughlin and Mass In Motion coordinator Julie Kelly were recruited for scenes in the video, and former Mayor Ed Lambert and current Mayor William Flanagan agreed to narrate. A crew from Fall River Government Television, overseen by Rene Kochman, agreed to film the narration so the mayors could use a portable teleprompter. Once completed, Healthy City Coordinator David Weed edited the final video and posted it to YouTube prior to the Prize Award deadline.
