On a typical summer day in Griffin Park, a variety of healthy activities were taking place involving children of all ages. Volunteers from Bike Fall River and Fall River Police officers were on hand with Healthy Aging Initiative Coordinator Eric Andrade and Mass in Motion Coordinator Julianne Kelly to give out free bike helmets and bells. "We gave away more than 25 helmets after Fall River Police Officer Richard Saraiva properly fitted them," reported Kelly. While that was going on, other children were playing soccer under the supervision of Greater Fall River Re-Creation staff members Keith Omosefunmi and Ashley Tillman. Other children were coming to the park for free lunches given out through the annual Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) administered nationally by the United States Department of Agriculture and locally by the Massachusetts Department of Education Click here for a one-minute video of the events.
