DOWNTOWN

Healthy Lives Fall River has teamed up with the American Heart Association's START program to create a 2.34 mile downtown walking route (354 calories for a 200 lb person). Follow the signs along any portion of this route to get some heart-healthy exercise.

This route travels a one-mile length of North and South Main Streets through the commercial center of the City, bounded by the YMCA at the north end of the route and by the Saint Anne's Shrine at the southern end. The route returns by Spring and Second Street by Lizzie Borden's house on among other locations.

Signs marking the path in a counter-clockwise direction will be placed in April 2008. Later in 2008, Healthy Lives bulletin boards will be located at the corner of Bedford and North Main Street, the YMCA, and Kennedy Park to provide information for walkers.
