In order to maintain optimum health, everyone needs to engage in some type of cardiovascular exercise and muscle strengthening activity. For a small number of people, their daily routines, school or employment provides sufficient opportunity to maintain fitness. However, most adults and children must plan times throughout the week when they can engage in activities that provide this heart-healthy benefit.
