Assistant
District Attorney Chris Markey and Fall River Police Sgt. Jack Silva
were the invited guests for the regularly scheduled Maplewood Neighborhood
Association meeting held on May 10, 2006 at the Niagara Senior Center Center.
Neighborhood safety was the number one concern of the crowd of over
fifty residents in attendance. Markey specifically outlined
some of the new resources that have been brought through the federal
Weed & Seed Program
funded last year. The bright spot of the evening meeting was a plan for
a new swing set and sand box for Maplewood Park submitted by a young
girl. Mayor Lambert was also on hand to field questions and to address
zoning issues and to report on current work on a revision of the City's
Master Plan. The
Maplewood Neighborhood Association is one of eight similar
organizations across the city that give Fall River residents a voice in
improving the quality of their lives. For more information, contact
Maureen Estes, Fall River Community Coordinator at Mestes@fallriverma.org. |
