The Milliken-Silva basketball league was begun fifty years ago by Frank Milliken and Larry Silva to give Fall River youth an opportunity to play competitive basketball in the elementary and middle-school years. Begun in the Wixon School gym, the program recently moved to the Talbot Middle School and the new elementary school facility at the Spencer-Borden school on President Avenue. Boys' teams are organized from the 3rd to the 8th grades. Any Fall River resident is welcome to sign up when the season begins in October. A small fee is charged to help support the teams, but the fee can be waived if the expense would be a hardship. For further information, contact Attorney Thomas Quinn III at 508-673-1116.
