Dancing to a Healthier Community
Action Plan Participant:
Youth Hip-Hop Dance

Participation in any type of structured educational/recreational program instills self-worth and increases self-esteem. Hip-Hop dance, in particular, not only enhances self-esteem and self-worth, it also promotes good health. Participants in this program will also engage in nutrition education through the lunch program in the city parks and will encourage youth to keep parks and streets clean. This program is one of seven Micro-Grant Programs funded by the 2004 Harvard-Pilgrim Healthcare Foundation Healthy Fall River grant.
