We All Need Trees
Action Plan Participant:
Fall River Street Tree Planting Program, Inc.

The Fall River Street Tree Planting Program, Inc., (FRSTPP) is a citywide, non-profit, all volunteer tree planting program that gives free trees to groups of citizens who apply for a tree grant. The program will provide guest speakers to students of science teacher Mary Molinski that will: A) Identify measures to ensure clean air and water, and B) Activities to reduce CO2 emissions.

 

Priority Area:  Environment and Recreation  Funded by a Healthy City micro-grant supported by
Priority Sub-Area:   

1, A)    Cleaner Streets and Parks

Goal:

A) Students will be able to identify five measures to reduce CO2 emissions, and B) Students will identify benefits of trees.

Method(s):

Classroom material, field trip to bioreserve, experiment by teacher
Timeline:          

All activities will be completed by April 27, 2007

Indicators:        Completion of field trip, planting of trees at school, survey
Progress: Plantings completed

How citizens can  get involved:

Volunteer to plant trees and properly care for them, attend Arbor Day events, help to keep CO2 from getting into the atmosphere by energy saving measures at home.
